What Are
Matching Gifts?
Corporate matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations their employees make to nonprofit organizations.

When employees make a donation, they request a matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation to the nonprofit.

Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio! This means your gift can have anywhere from 2 to 5 times as much impact depending on your company's policy.
Why Do Companies Match Donations?
Companies of all sizes offer matching gift programs because it’s an easy, structured way for them to support good work in their communities while encouraging a culture of generosity.
Did you know that corporations gave more than $21 billion to nonprofit organizations in 2022?!
Steps to Checking if Your Company Matches
1. Proceed to matchinggifts.com/uofpa
(There are many sites to check but this is one we really like)
2. Type your company’s name into the search box and see if your company’s name appears.
(You can also click the “search” button without selecting a company from the dropdown menu and the site will generate options)
3. The form will generate any relevant information regarding your company’s matching gift initiatives.
4. If your company is not listed, you can still contact your company to determine if this is accurate; we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy with this online form.
Thank You!
